⚜️About Courage Within LLCCourage Within LLC is a survivor-led powerhouse organization devoted to empowering individuals affected by domestic violence and human trafficking. Our organization was founded on the belief that every survivor deserves to be heard, believed, supported, and treated with dignity.Our mission is deeply personal. Our founder and CEO herself is a survivor of both domestic violence and human trafficking. At the tender young age of 14, she faced unimaginable abuse, adversity, and had to navigate a difficult path to healing, legal battles, and overcoming victim blaming and victim shaming.Courage Within LLC is a survivor-led powerhouse founded by a woman who has lived through and risen above beating the odds against the very realities this organization fights every day. Our founder and CEO, up against all odds, beat the odds and continues to do so to this very day.She is a survivor of domestic violence, human trafficking, and repeated cycles of abuse. Her children, too, are survivors of child abuse and domestic violence, having endured traumatic incidents that left lasting emotional, mental, and physical scars.As an adult, our founder continued to face normalized abuse in intimate relationships, marriages, and parenting environments. She survived horrific violence that resulted in serious, life-threatening injuries that were never properly treated or acknowledged. She fought through rejection, abandonment, and systems that failed to protect her and her children.She fought against supporters of abusers and perpetrators who attempted to villainize her for speaking up and spreading awareness about the domestic violence she endured, as well as the abuse her children sustained. She has firsthand experience with how abusers and narcissists try to use the system to weaponize victims.She has experienced firsthand how victims are blamed, shamed, dismissed, and how systems can be weaponized by narcissistic abusers against the very people seeking protection. She has experienced how victims are often treated as case numbers instead of human beings. She knows what it feels like to seek help and be met with indifference.Her journey included navigating trauma, complex legal systems, protection orders, countless court hearings, and many of the barriers survivors often face while seeking safety and justice. Her journey includes battling through complex legal processes, fighting tooth and nail for protection orders, navigating courts that did not listen, and overcoming adversaries who tried to silence her.She has stood alone in vulnerable situations where people took advantage of her trauma, her circumstances, and her need for safety and shelter. Yet, through every heartache, she found the courage within, and now she uses her lived experience to empower others.Those experiences strengthened her commitment to creating an organization where survivors are met with compassion instead of judgment, understanding instead of disbelief, and advocacy instead of silence.Our founder’s passion for outreach and community service was shaped long before Courage Within LLC was established. At the tender age of eight months old, she was abandoned by her biological father and was raised by her biological grandfather, a self-made farmer whose life was built on hard work, compassion, and generosity. He grew the crops, raised the livestock, and provided the food that sustained not only his own family but others in need. After raising his own children, he devoted himself to helping raise his grandchildren. He firmly believed that no child and no person should ever go to bed hungry. His example of selflessness, service, and unconditional love became the foundation for our Warriors of Hope Outreach Initiative, which is dedicated to providing food, essential resources, and support to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity. Having personally experienced the struggles of raising children as a single mother while working two and three jobs just to keep food on the table, our founder understands the fear and uncertainty that many families face. She knows firsthand that many children not only go to bed hungry but also spend their days without enough to eat. Those experiences continue to fuel her commitment to serving families with dignity, compassion, and hope.In addition to her advocacy work, our founder is a professional makeup artist who believes that healing includes restoring confidence, self-worth, and personal dignity. While true beauty comes from within, survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking often struggle with damaged self-esteem as they rebuild their lives. Through Courage Within LLC, she, alongside a network of professional makeup artists and volunteers, provides confidence-building beauty sessions, makeovers, and self-care experiences designed to help survivors rediscover their worth. These services are paired with practical life skills, including interview preparation, professional presentation, hygiene education, confidence coaching, and workforce readiness to help participants feel empowered as they pursue employment and new opportunities. We also provide uplifting community outings, special events, and opportunities that remind survivors they are valued, deserving, and never alone. Our commitment extends to children as well by offering tutoring, educational enrichment, mentorship, life-skills development, and supportive programs that encourage academic success, emotional healing, confidence, and hope for a brighter future.At Courage Within LLC, we recognize that survivors often benefit from services that are compassionate, trauma-informed, and grounded in both professional expertise and lived experience. Our lived experience complements evidence-based trauma-informed practices and strengthens the compassionate support we provide.At Courage Within LLC, we believe no one can truly guide a survivor unless they understand the journey firsthand. Our founder’s story is the heartbeat of this organization. Her resilience, empathy, unwavering determination, and lived experience shape every service we provide.We stand with survivors because we are survivors. We advocate fiercely because we know what it feels like to be unheard. We support families because we know the impact trauma has on children. We fight for justice because we know how difficult it can be to attain.Courage Within LLC exists to ensure that no survivor walks alone—not in fear, not in shame, and not in silence. Our mission is to silence the violence by breaking cycles of abuse through advocacy, education, outreach, healing, and hope.We believe every survivor deserves the opportunity to reclaim their voice, restore their dignity, build a future free from violence, empower themselves, heal, and thrive.💜
